These research programmes depend on charitable donations as well as government and charitable grants.
In particular, we are presently in need of funding to support the Patient Cell Culture facility in Chandler Wing of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. This is a state-of-the-art facility to culture patient's cells for regenerative cell therapies, to exacting standards of quality control and cleanliness. Candidate cells will be used in clinical trials of stem cell and other regenerative cell therapies, to help nerve and spinal cord injuries in the future. Any help to partner in this research, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
Other areas of research include spinal tumours and chordoma surgery, and working out how we can improve outcome of surgery in these challenging conditions.
